How to Take Great Photos Using Your Cell Phone
Ever see something that would make for a great photograph, only to kick yourself for not bringing your camera along? Or do you think you have to buy $1,000 of camera equipment to get that unbelievable shot for your wall. But here's the dirty little secret of photography: if you have a good eye think creatively, and know your equipment, you can use anything to take a good photo, from a phone camera to that digital SLR that you got for Christmas. This course will be in three parts: 1) a class that will give you tips on how to get good photos, no matter what equipment you're using, including info on picking subjects, composition, using light, and finding the right position, 2) a field trip on 4/17/10 in order to put these tips into practice, and 3) a session where we review your best photos from the field trip.

Joel Keller was your office's "IT guy," who just happened to be a part-time freelance writer. In early 2006, he decided to go full-time freelance, and hasn't looked back. His "main gig" is with the AOL blog TV Squad, where he writes about TV and interviews actors, producers, and writers. He has also written about pop culture, food and travel for The New York Times, Radar, New Jersey Monthly, Cinematical, and The Huffington Post, among other publications and websites. He also wrote for a retirement community newsletter, so it's not all glamor and celebrities; though he did once interview a woman who lived next door to a teenaged "Lenny" Bernstein.
Joel is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the Television Critics Association.
